UPDATE: Highway 33 in Joe Rich reopened after vehicle fire

A vehicle fire is causing traffic delays on Highway 33 Saturday morning.

Around 9:45 a.m., emergency services received calls about a vehicle fire in Joe Rich on Highway 33 around Thelwell Road, right near the Joe Rich Fire Hall.

The fire fully engulfed the vehicle but fire crews were able to douse the blaze. No one was injured.

Highway 33 is closed in both directions right now but fire crews and the RCMP are working on opening the stretch of road to single-lane alternating for the time being.
