This historic photo is of the Greata Ranch House in Peachland.
The photo was taken sometime around 1935 and features the home of George Greata and his family.
Greata purchased the land in Peachland in 1895, thinking it would be the perfect place to grow fruit. In 1901, he planted 50 acres of apples.
In 1994, the Fitzpatrick family purchased Greata Ranch and planted the first vines on the property the next year.
The in 2017, the Fitzpatrick Family Vineyards opens at the historic Greata Ranch site with a focus on traditional method sparkling wine.
