History in photos: View from Lakeview Heights

A look back into West Kelowna/Peachland’s past

This historic photo was taken from West Kelowna’s Lakeview Heights in the late 1960s, looking towards downtown Kelowna. Bruce Brown posted the photo to the Facebook group Old Kelowna. You can note Kelowna General Hospital is barely seen just back from the shore to the right of the picture. There are no high-rises, no development where the Grand Hotel is now located and the floating bridge is still a fixture.
