What better time to learn about finance literacy than just before the holiday season.
November is Financial Literacy Month and Launch Okanagan is hosting its third annual breakfast fundraiser to celebrate.
The breakfast brings together small businesses, non-profit organizations, and financial services in a public forum to discuss how finances impact the Kelowna and the entire Okanagan. Included is a panel discussion and a special presentation.
“This year we are excited to celebrate the people that participate in our programs and the impact that our programs have on their lives,” said Launch Okanagan executive director Jennifer Robins. “The audience will hear from recent graduates of our Matched Savings program, and I will share more about the impact we have created over the past year. We are also thrilled to have 4 other non-profit agencies join us on stage to discuss how we can work together to overcome the challenges to achieving financial inclusion in our community.”
Last year, 904 participants attended the event, including 46 programs.
All proceeds from the event go to Launch Okanagan programs. The breakfast takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at Trinity Church, located at 1905 Springfield Road from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Tickets are available on Launch Okanagan's website.
