The Rockabilly Party and Dance will fill the grand ballroom at the Prestige Vernon Hotel on Friday, May 10, 8 p.m.

Some old school Vernon guitar heroes are teaming up with a sleek young rockabilly family band for a night of stripped back sounds and simple pleasures.

Bluesman Les Copeland will open the show by leaning into some twang. He’s followed by classicist Manfred Harter’s early rock and roll fetish band Buddy Holly 101.

The well-travelled rockabilly trio Dixie Fried Hep Katz will headline the show with its high-energy slap back sound. Family values and that chemistry bring on fresh music with an old soul. “We’re gonna play new songs from our third album. It’s gonna rock,” said frontman Porter Johnson, who is joined by Kendra Johnson on drums and Neil Graham on standup.

Tickets, $30, to the 19 plus evening are available at Bourbon Street Bar & Grill, Eastside Liquor Co. and Collectors Direct.
