Changes are being made to the short-term parking lot at Kelowna International Airport (YLW) in preparation for the new Sutton Place Hotel.
The relocation of the exit and entry will be completed in two phases:
- Week of Oct. 28 – New exit from the short-term parking lot;
- Week of Nov. 4 – New entrance to the short-term parking lot.
After construction is complete customers will no longer be able to pay for short-term parking using cash. Parking payment can be made using credit and debit cards or the TIBA Mobile Access app. Construction updates are available through the City of Kelowna website.
Over the next 10 years, YLW will invest over $422 million in upgrades to infrastructure, funded through airport revenues and Airport Improvement Fees.
Construction of the Sutton Place Hotel, which goes to a public hearing on Nov. 5, is expected to begin in 2025.
