Two Kelowna non-profit organizations have received grants from the Prospera Foundation.
KCR Community Resources (Volunteers4ALL), Mamas for Mamas (mental health and wellness program) received part of more than $485,000 in grants to local charities and non-profit organizations in B.C.
The Foundation did not provide a break down the amounts but noted that $93,000 was awarded.
“These grants will support vital community programs that make a lasting impact”, says TJ Schmaltz, Prospera Foundation president.
The Prospera Foundation is a registered charity and one of the largest credit union foundations in Canada and has contributed more than $6.8 million in grants over 32 years.
KCR’s Volunteers4ALL Program helps individuals volunteer opportunities leading to potential employment. As of August 2024 the program has more than 1,500 volunteers.
The Mamas For Mamas Mental Health and Wellness Program supports support individuals in need of prompt and free access to registered trained mental health professionals. More than 3,500 individuals were served this year.
