Kelowna Rockets forward Tij Iginla has a ticket to the final showcase event before the 2024 NHL Draft.
He is one of 100 prospects invited to the Scouting Combine in Buffalo starting Monday (June 3) and ending June 8.
Iginla is ranked ninth among North American skaters on the NHL Central Scouting Bureau ranking for the draft.
“The combine is a rite of passage on a player’s path to the NHL and event clubs and prospects look forward to participating in,” said Dan Marr, NHL central scouting director.
Iginla is the Rockets 2024 MVP and finished second in scoring among his teammates with 84 points (47G-37A) in 62 games.
He also tied for sixth among WHL skaters and was named to the Western Hockey League’s 2023-24 B.C. Division First All-Star Team.
Teammate Hiroki Gojsic, who is ranked 63rd among North American skaters, was not invited to attend the combine.
He and Iginla hope to hear their names called at the 2024 NHL Draft, June 28-29 at the Sphere in Las Vegas.
