According to a press release from the City of Revelstoke, Revelstoke Fire Crews extinguished the fire in Big Eddy in the morning of April, 15.

A Facebook post shared by Revelstoke Fire Services said that the barn structure was a “total loss.” The press release stated that there were several calls to 911, with reports of a barn that was possibly “ablaze.”

“Engine 1 responded with two firefighters, immediately followed by the fire chief in truck 9. The barn was fully engulfed by fire on arrival. Engine 1 stretched a single handline and began attacking the fire as additional firefighters and apparatus began to arrive on the scene. A water supply was established by engine 2 while additional firefighters pulled a second and third handline to begin extinguishment and exposure protection,” read a press release.

While there were no injuries reported to the firefighters or occupants of the home, it was reported that there were some animals that did not make it out in time.

BC Hydro, BC Ambulance, and the RCMP also attended the scene.
