How individuals sign up for a doctor or nurse practitioner in the Central Okanagan has changed.

There is a new registration list which can be joined by signing up online or by calling 8-1-1.

Individuals can also sign up their family members or someone they care for.

The Central Okanagan Divisions of Family Practice (CODFP) has been calling and emailing those who were already on the old waitlist.

“If you are not able to find this email in your inbox, search your spam/junk mail. The email is titled “Patient Notification | Find a Family Doctor program transitioning to HealthConnect Registry,” reads a statement on the CODFP website.

“We want to assure you that the email is genuine, and it follows the rules of the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).”

Patients are asked not to call clinics at this time as they are currently overwhelmed and there is no space to accept new patients.

Instead, they are asked to sign up with the BC Health Connect Registry to be added to a waitlist for a family doctor or nurse practitioner when one becomes available.

Changes to current registrations can be made on the HealthLinkBC website.
