The City of Kelowna encourages residents to embrace pedal power during GoByBike Week.

The province-wide initiative asks people to ditch their vehicles for cycling, scootering, or even rollerblading for daily commutes and errands.

From June 3 to 9, Kelowna residents are invited to explore the city on two wheels or alternative means of transportation.

Kelowna’s commitment to promoting alternate transportation includes an extensive network of bike lanes and multi-use paths, totaling approximately 400 kilometers.

“Biking is a fun way to get outdoors and stay active, it’s also an affordable transportation option that can help you save money,” said Suzanne Therrien, transportation planner.

By registering for free at gobybikebc.ca, participants can log the number of kilometers they bike each day throughout the week.

Every ride logged enters individuals and teams into a draw for locally sponsored and province-wide prizes.

The grand prize is a cycling adventure in Italy, sponsored by Exodus Adventure Travels.
