Kelowna fire crews spent the early hours of Sunday (Feb. 11) battling a fire.

The fire department was called out around 2 a.m. to smoke and flames coming from a second floor window of a building in the 700-block of Matt Road.

All occupants were evacuated safely. Firefighters were able to knock the blaze down quickly and it did not spread to neighbouring homes.

The Kelowna Fire Department responded with 3 engines, 1 rescue unit, and a command unit.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
