Kelowna RCMP is investigating a sexual assault attempt that took place on June 9.
Around 8:45 p.m. on that Sunday night, Kelowna RCMP received a report from a woman who was walking along the trail at Mission Creek Regional Park when a man attempted to sexual assault her.
According to the woman, she was walking alone on the trail between Leckie Road and Durnin Road when the unknown man grabbed her and attempted to assault her. She was able to free herself, run away, and call 911.
RCMP are looking for the man who is described as: Causacian, 50-60 years old, short grey hair, wearing a gray or white long sleeve jacket with red colouring on the shoulder area.
"Officers conducted an extensive search of the area and are continuing this investigation,” said media relation officer Cpl. Michael Gauthier. “The public can expect to see a police presence in the area throughout the day and evening.”
