Small bush blaze with difficult accessibility extinguished by Kelowna fire crews

The fire was discovered around 7:40 a.m.

Multiple fire crews were called to the scene of a small bush fire on Tuesday morning.

Around 7:40 a.m. on Apr. 2, the Kelowna Fire Department received calls for a small bush fire up the mountain-side between McCurdy Road and Mount Baldy Drive, close to Mill Creek.

Multiple crews attended the scene because accessibility to the fire was difficult.

The fire burnt a few trees but didn’t spread a lot as crews were able to get to the area and extinguish the blaze.

RCMP and emergency services also attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
