The West Kelowna Warriors stopped by Glenrosa Middle School as part of their inaugural Neighbourhood Roadshow on Sunday, Sept. 8

After just one day, the West Kelowna Warriors inaugural Neighbourhood Roadshow is already a success.

On Sunday, Sept. 8, the team was at Glenrosa Middle School to play road hockey with local kids, meet-and-greet opportunities, and a barbecue.

“We want to launch the season with a strong community initiative, so we created a concept that makes it convenient for local youth to connect with our players.” said Warriors president Chris Laurie.  “Not too often do kids get invited to play ball hockey with their junior hockey heroes, so now is their opportunity. It should be a lot of fun for everyone.”

The Warriors are hosting the event twice more this fall: Sunday, Sept. 22 at the Sensisyusten House of Learning Sports Court and on Sunday, Sept. 29 at Mar Jok Elementary School, both from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Kids are encouraged to bring their hockey sticks.
