The City of West Kelowna has downgraded the boil water notice for the Sunnyside/Pritchard system to a water quality advisory, as turbidity in Okanagan Lake is decreasing.
City staff said despite decreasing turbidity, it still remains higher than normal due to spring freshet.
Under the water quality advisory, children, the elderly and those with weakened immunity must use water brought to a rolling boil for a minute or more. Another option is to seek an alternative safe source for brushing teeth, drinking, making baby formula and ice, preparing food and beverages, and washing fruits and vegetables.
Residents can bring empty bottles to the bulk filling station at Shannon Lake and Asquith Roads. The water is free throughout the duration of the advisory.
