The Kelowna Fire Department dealt with a burn pile that appears to have gotten out of control in East Kelowna.
Crews were called to Reid Road, between East Kelowna and Pooley roads, around 1 p.m. March 27.
A fire captain at the scene told Capital News that the property owner had a permit, but was burning materials that were ‘not within the limits of the permit.’
The burn pile was also considered to be too close to a house on the property.
Reid Road was closed as crews extinguish the blaze.
