RCMP investigating major Lumby house fire

The large blaze needed 18 firefighters stationed on the scene to extinguish it

A large structure fire in Lumby has led to an investigation by RCMP.

Firefighters were called to the 2000 block of Mountain View Avenue on Monday, June 3 at 2 a.m.

Between the four responding fire departments, 18 firefighters were on the scene, and after “many” hours, the fire was extinguished.

According to the Regional District of North Okanagan, the RCMP is “currently onsite completing a site examination.”

The cause of the fire is unknown and the incident has been turned over to the RCMP for investigation.
