A series of crashes plagued West Kelowna on Thursday.
About 3 p.m., emergency crews responded to a motorcycle over an embankment on Westside Road near Fintry.
According to a witness, a helicopter had to be called to airlift the rider from the scene. Traffic was backed up along Westside Road in both directions for about two hours.
Shortly after 3 p.m., emergency crews were called out again to an incident in the 1700 block of Ross Road after a car and a pickup truck collided head-on.
Ross Road was closed in both directions while the occupants of the vehicles were assessed by BC Ambulance. It’s unclear the injuries, if any, of the occupants.
Then about 5:40 p.m. a four-vehicle collision occurred on Highway 97 just north of Ross Road. Two tow trucks were called to the scene. Traffic along Highway 97 was backed up in both directions while emergency crews were on scene.
The extent of the injuries of those involved in these incidents is not known.
