Construction starts May 2 to extend Upper Smith Creek Road.

The work being done by Wiltech Developments Inc. and T&A Rock Works is part of the Smith Creek residential development.

Smith Creek Road between Dixie Road and the Copper Ridge Drive intersection will be closed to complete construction. Blasting operations will be done between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. Earthworks may be done outside these hours with the possibility of some weekend construction activity.

A detour will be in place on Copper Ridge Drive until further notice. Access for emergency services and local residents will be maintained during construction.

Users of Glen Canyon Regional Park and the adjacent Smith Creek trails will be able to use Upper Smith Creek Road during construction via the detour. Motorists are advised to allow for extra travel time when driving through the area and are asked to follow all construction signage and instructions from traffic control personnel.

For more information on the project contact Wiltech Developments at 250-769-4747 or office@wiltech.biz.
