ALFRED Frederick, 91 of Kelowna, BC, formally of Westbank, Vancouver and Burnaby, passed away on April 5, 2008 in Cottonwoods Extended Care Centre after lung and cancer complications. He is survived by sons Harry (Muriel) of Halifax, NS; Leonard (Terry) of Nanoose Bay, BC and sister-in-law May Winter of Chilliwack, BC, along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by wife Peggy (MacPherson) and brother Robert Baxter. Born in Vancouver and raised at Kriss Creek, the head of Tranquille Valley, worked the gold mines at Vidette and Princess Royal Island. At the out-break of war he joined the Seaforth Highlanders in Vancouver in September 1939, transferred to the Provost Corp. in 1941 and was repated back to Canada in May1945. He joined B.C. Sugar Refinery later that year until retiring in 1977. Moved to the Okanagan Valley to live out his retirement with Peggy. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday April 10th in the Chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna.
