BARBIERI, ALFREDO (PA)
Passed away peacefully
on January 17th,2014 after courageous year-long battle with cancer. Survived by his loving wife of 46 years Lucia; children twin sons Dennis (Rebecca), Loris (Sheira)
and youngest Dario (Rachel); five grandchildren: Olivia,
Anthony, Cameron, Luke and Lorenzo. Also survived by his sister Milena (Arturo) and family from Burnaby, brothers and sisters in Italy and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his oldest brother Nicola and nephew Roger. Alfredo moved to Canada in 1966, and returned to Italy in 1968 to marry is fiancé Lucia and they settled in Vancouver. Renowned for his voice, Alfredo performed all over western Canada and U.S., winning numerous trophies becoming known as "the King of Italian Song" in Vancouver. Pa was a very skilled Autobody man who loved making wine, hunting, mushrooming, trapshooting and tending to his beautiful
garden and vineyard. Alfredo's family would like to thank
the community nursing staff, all the staff and volunteers
of Hospice House for their wonderful care. Prayers will
be held Wednesday January 22nd, 2014 at 6pm and a Catholic mass will be celebrated Thursday, January 23rd, 2014 at 10:30am at Holy Spirit Parish 1260 Neptune
Road, Kelowna BC. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alfredo's name to Kelowna
Hospice House or towards oral cancer research.
