1925 - 2008

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tony, a caring husband and father on November 16, 2008.  Tony was born in Kalvaria, Lithuania in 1925.  He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years Elli; his son Peter (Karen) of Peachland and his daughter Valorie (Rod) MacDonald of Kelowna.  He also leaves to mourn, his sister, Jenina Skarniene, his brother Kazys Kvietinskas, many relatives in Lithuania, as well as many friends in Kelowna and the Vancouver area.  Tony’s passion in life was fishing. While residing in White Rock and prior to retiring to Kelowna in 1993, he spent many wonderful times on his boat the Eli K, fishing the BC coastal waters accompanied by Elli, his fishing buddies and their wives.  The family wishes to thank Dr. Ronnald Schriemer and his staff for their exemplary care and compassion while treating our father the past few years.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tony’s memory to the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation, 2268 Pandosy Street, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 1T2.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1077 Fuller Avenue, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 2E6 on Friday November 21, 2008 at 11:00 am.  Interment to follow in the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery.  Condolences may be sent to the family at 4187 Gallagher’s Crescent, Kelowna, BC, V1W 3Z9.  Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, are entrusted with arrangements.
