Mitchell passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at Kelowna. Aged 87 years. Predeceased by husband Len in 1998, Betty will be lovingly remembered by children David (Sheryl) Mitchell of Mission, Louise (Casey) Vos of Kamloops, Robert (Laurel) Mitchell, Ray (Jean) Mitchell and Eleanor (Alan) Bayliss all of Kelowna; fifteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; sister Cecelia Tallack of Toronto and extended family. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Betty moved to Kelowna in 1960. During WWII Betty served as a teletypist with the RCAF. She was active in the church, enjoyed family, quilting, gardening, ceramics and had a great sense of humour. Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Prayers will be held 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 15, 2009. Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 16, at St. Theresas Catholic Church, Rutland. Father Otto Rollheiser celebrant.
