MYKYTIW, AUDREY - May 25, 1921 - December 3, 2014
Audrey has left us to be with the Lord, at the age of 93.5 years. It is with great sadness, and loss, that we must say goodbye to a beautiful, loving mother, grand mother and great grandmother, that we all will cherish forever. Audrey passed away peacefully, with her only daughter Gloria Jean by her side and a dear friend on Dec. 3, 2014 at Brandt Creek Mews, Kelowna where she resided for the last 5 yrs. Audrey was predeceased by her husband Paul on Dec. 26, 2009, and her son Jerry Allen, on May 18,2013. She is survived by her sister HELEN CHIMILAR of Vegreville, Alta, 94 years old (1 of 14 siblings), her daughter GLORIA JEAN (in Kelowna), her son TERRY (in Ontario), her grandson
TERRENCE, and her great grand daughter MONIKA. Having been raised in the Elk Point, Alta area, and after farming and owning a store, mother and father decided to adventure more of Alberta. They moved to Fairview, Alta, owning a Hotel, then to Grand Center (Cold Lake, Alta area) where they also owned a Motel. Then one day, after vacationing to Kelowna, BC, "Eureka ...... they had found it!!" Kelowna was then their final home place for over 38 years. Here they managed to build houses in the Rutland and Kelowna area. Retirement was just a word!! All who crossed our mother's path in life were touched by her beautiful smile that she had for everyone. Her sense of humour and wit were priceless! She was so clever, kind, gentle, full of sweetness, and loved by her family & friends. She was an avid reader and listener. She took pride in all her endeavors and was passionate about her home and gardening. Her positive attitude was admired by all! She loved her Bingo, Scratches, Travel, Boating, Pets, and Socializing. She was an Awesome cook, and she loved to please her company with all her great recipes. Her home was always known as "Audrey's Drop In Cafe." Her hospitality was always open to anyone and everyone! "SPECIAL THANKS" and appreciation goes out to each one of you that cared & loved our mother throughout her journey of life. There will be a "CELEBRATION OF LIFE" gathering in honour of Audrey in the spring at a date to be announced.
