RICKARDS, Bradley Alfred

 On October 1, 2009 Brad passed away with his family by his side at Hospice House in Kelowna, BC, at the age of 68 years.  Brad fought a hard, long and valiant battle against the progression of Parkinson’s.  Brad was predeceased by his father Alfred and younger brother Clinton.  Brad leaves behind his beloved wife Pat of 50 years; daughters Christine Naito (Russ), Deborah Busch (Alan), Nancy Walthers (Bruce); son Sean (Dawn); grandchildren: Sarah, Amanda, Stephen, Mitchell, Craig, Madison, Chase, Morgan and little Hannah; his mother Gladys of Burnaby; sister Marjorie Mohler (Bill); brothers: Gordon, David (Elaine); honorary brother Christopher Miller (Wendy), cousins, nieces and nephews.  Brad grew up in Burnaby where he met Pat.  After years of attending U.B.C., he and his family moved to Kelowna in 1971, where he spent his years teaching and contributing to the growth of the next generation.  He had a passion for living life to the fullest, enjoying the great outdoors, photography, music and most of all his love for his family.  He was so proud of his children and grandchildren, who are left to carry on his

legacy of love.  The family wishes to thank the nursing staff of 4B West at Kelowna General Hospital for all their care during Brad’s stay, the loving staff at Hospice House and to

Dr. Paul Hart for his care and guidance.  A celebration of Brad’s life will be held on Saturday, October 10th at 1:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road,
