GIBSON-BRYDON, TOM 1976 – 2009
Tom was an extraordinary human being--a good man. In his lifetime of 33 years he was an inspiration: as a brother who protected his own, as a son who was kind and generous and as a friend who became an integral part of his friends' lives. Whether as the Dungeon Master leading an adventure of "Dungeons & Dragons", a saxophone player in the band "The World Famous Riflemen" making music in the style of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band; or as an academic scholar with McGill University he strived for excellence in humanity. Having struggled with adversity to graduate with a PhD in British Labour History in May, 2008 he never lost his integrity in
pursuit of his goals.
His beloved partner, Laura Nagy who died in the car accident with him was a phenomenal human being in her own right and together they shone.
Tom believed in the
'underdog' and he fought through his teaching to make this world a better place. He will be remembered with the utmost love and respect of his family: his mother,
Cathay Gibson, his brother Jeffrey David and fiance, Stephanie Pearce, his friends (who are family) Linda Crosbie, Chris, Tavi, Dan, John, Aaron and Rod; and, his father, Tom Brydon.
He was the best example of a caring and loving human being. Tom reached the pinnacle of his life at 33 which few achieve over the course of a lifetime.
We are so proud to have known you Tom. You will stay in our hearts and minds forever.
A Memorial Graveside
Service will be held at the Kelowna Memorial Park
Cemetery at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, July 15th, 2009.

A memorial will also be held in Montreal for friends and family in the community and McGill University.
