CLARENCE LEO KELLERMAN

CLARENCE LEO KELLERMAN

KELLERMAN, CLARENCE LEO A long time Rutland resident, passed away on June 13th after a brief and sudden illness at 90 years of age. Born in Bruno, Saskatchewan in 1924, he moved to Kelowna in 1952, met and married his life long partner Vicki Sperle. With his father, he began a cabinet/furniture business, later becoming Kellerman Upholstery, which is still in operation today. A quiet and gentle man, Clarence was very much dedicated to his craft, his church, his family and his community. Clarence was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a volunteer Rutland fireman, a member of the first Lion’s Club in Rutland, a member of the Hard of Hearing Society, a member of the Radio Controlled Flying Club, and early Rutland Waterboard trustee, and a leader of the local Cub pack. After operating Kellerman Upholstery until his retirement in 1990, he filled his later years with gardening, fishing, fly tying, radio controlled airplane building and pursued his insatiable passion of newspaper reading-followed by social comment. Clarence lived independently until the age of 88 and has spent the past two years at Glenwood Assisted Living, living contentedly and steadfastly refusing to use a cane until the very end. Predeceased by his wife Vicki in 2000 and infant daughter Jennifer, Clarence leaves behind 4 sons, Mark, Kevin (Gabriele), Todd (Denise) and Paul (Sheri); 5 grandsons, Chris (Rebecca), Graham (Chantelle), Joel, Connor, Corey and great-granddaughter Khloe. Prayers will be recited at Holy Spirit Church, 1260 Neptune Road on Wednesday June 17th at 7:00 p.m. and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday June 18th Holy Spirit Church.
