Clayton passed away peacefully on Monday, May 22, 2017 with family by his side.

Clayton was born September 19, 1926 in Carmen Manitoba to George and Lena Finch After growing up on the farm, the family moved into Transcona where Clayton began his career as a boilermaker and equipment operator with the CNR. It was here that he met Jessie Purden and they became husband and wife in January 1958.

Together they took a CNR transfer to the west coast spending time in Fort Langley, White Rock, and Kerrisdale. Sensing time for a change in August 1966 they moved to Winfield, BC. It is here they built and opened the Wood Lake Drive In restaurant in June 1967.

Their next adventures were the Summerland Laundromat & Car Wash, Winfield Texaco Bulk Fuel & Oil, Finch Trucking, Okanagan Propeller & Winfield Radiator Repair.

Jessie also worked at Vanguard & Woodlake Books.

Clayton was predeceased by Jessie, October 2, 2010.

They are very much missed by their sons Brian and Bruce.
