Passed away on February 15, 2009 at the age of 100. Connie was born in London, England in 1908 and came to Canada as a war bride in 1946. She and her predeceased husband (Jim) settled in Manitoba before moving to Calgary and then retiring in Kelowna in 1979. She survived a tragic car crash in 1982 but Jim was killed instantly. Connie had a long and industrious life. During her retirement years she enjoyed traveling, doing volunteer work and corresponding with all her friends and family abroad. Up until Christmas, she lived on her own and took pleasure in going out shopping and taking care of her home. Connie will be profoundly missed by her only daughter Valerie, her sister-in-law Anne and other family members in England as well as her numerous loving friends. Special thanks to the nursing staff of KGH 4-B Unit and to the nursing staff and volunteers of the Central Okanagan Hospice House. A Celebration of Connie's Life will be held at Benvoulin Heritage Church, 2279 Benvoulin Road, Kelowna at 2 pm Saturday February 21st. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Central Okanagan Hospice House, 202-1456 St. Paul Street or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 4-1551 Sutherland Ave, Kelowna
