Darlene passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at Kelowna General Hospital in Kelowna at the age of 63. Darlene was predeceased by her father Ernie Cyr in 1968. Darlene was born May 28, 1945 in Saskatoon, Sask. She was a world traveler, a gifted English teacher and a wonderful friend to all who knew her. Darlene loved music, books, learning, teaching, friends and her family. She was the one you could count on for encouragement, support and love. Darlene will be missed by many, especially the Costain family of Kelowna. She will be very missed by her mother who was her best friend, Ella Cyr of Kelowna and will be loved and remembered forever by her only child, Darren Bates of Kelowna. A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at St. Pius Catholic Church, 1077 Fuller Ave, Kelowna.
