SELF, DENISE ELEANOR
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin on December 14, 2014, at the age of 80, in Kelowna, BC. Denise is survived by her sons, Tim (Lisa), Michael (Juvy), Gordon (Theresa) and daughter Janice (Randy), and her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Denise was predeceased by her beloved husband Lorne in 2009. Born in Norway House, Manitoba, Denise later moved to Winnipeg with her sister Claire (Don) and their parents Jack Wright and Armande Gingras. She went onto Holy Cross School and then the School of Nursing at St. Boniface General Hospital where she graduated with a RN in 1955. Besides nursing, the other love of her life was first and foremost her husband, having celebrated their 50 wedding anniversary in 2006. Denise was an avid golfer, loved watching baseball, going on reunion trips with her nursing alumni friends, and spending many wonderful retirement winters in Phoenix. Her faith was a source of much strength, and she volunteered at many parish activities in Winnipeg and Kelowna. She will always be remembered as a kind and cheerful woman, who treated people as "all God's children." Many patients, friends and family will never forget her spirit of compassion, and healing touch. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Charles Garnier Parish, 3645 Benvoulin Road, Kelowna, BC at 11 am on Thursday, December 18th, 2014.
