DENNIS SCHWARTZ

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis Schwartz who went to be with the Lord after a brief illness on November 12, 2014. He is survived by his loving wife Sheila of 51 years; Son Cliff of Westbank, son Steve (Shandi) of Kelowna, his four grandchildren: Emily, Meghan, Nate, and Layla, sisters: Della, Adeline, and Lois as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Dennis had a long distinguished career with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police until 1987 after which time he worked for the City of Kelowna as the founding coordinator of the CrimeStoppers Program in our community. In retirement he loved spending time with his family, travelling and golfing.

A Memorial service to celebrate his life will take place at 11:00 on November 20 at Grace Lutheran Church (1162 Hudson Road) on the Westside.

Our family would like to express our sincerest gratitude for the kindness and compassion shown to him by the KGH staff and the nurses at Hospice House during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, we are requesting that donations be made to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or to Kelowna Hospice House.
