March 3, 2022
On March 3, surrounded by his family, we lost our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, mentor and friend, Don Furman.
A long-time resident of West Kelowna, he was an accomplished painter, scientist and teacher. He did everything from serving on the Ski Patrol for many years to serving as an expert witness in trials involving explosives. After retiring from the OK College he enjoyed the mountains, fishing and travelling and is remembered as a kind and patient man, who listened more than he spoke. His dedication to family was an inspiration.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Marion. He is survived by his 4 sons Joe (Ginette), Keith (Brenda), Neil and Scott Christine) as well as his grandchildren Cassidy, Samantha, Thomas, Brad, Jackie, Kirsten, Michael, Travis and David as well as his 2 great grandchildren Melody and Gaius.
In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to the KGH Foundation, (www.kghfoundation.com, or 2268 Pandosy Street, Kelowna, BC V1T 1T2) which did an amazing job caring for Dad and ensuring his comfort.
An open house Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 3044 Riesling Place, West Kelowna, BC. For more information. Call 250-859-0863.
