HOWE, Dorothy

(nee Johnson, Littler)

Dorothy (Dot) passed away on July 11, 2009 after her long battle with Alzheimer's.

Born to a family of 10 children on March 29, 1924 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. As a young bride Dot immigrated to beautiful British Columbia in 1946 with her husband John Littler. She had two daughters Ollie (Dennison) and Margaret (Paddy) Perry.

In the mid 60's Dot moved to Kelowna and began a new life with her husband, William Howe and enjoyed the birth of her third daughter, Kellie Howe.

Dot was famous for her baking abilities - it was not unusual to visit her house and find the dinning room table full of pies, made with the fruit from the local orchards, cookies and fresh baked bread.

Dot was a Brownie and Girl Guide Leader both in Vancouver and Kelowna. Dot volunteered at a Senior's Home and on the Social Night she could be found behind the bar. She also volunteered at the Kelowna SPCA - and supplied the fund raising events with her baked goods.

Dot will be missed by her daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family. She will be especially missed by her grand daughter Terri, who was extremely close and had a special relationship with her.

I'll love you forever

I'll like you for always

as long as I'm living

my Grandma you'll be.
