Dorothy Mabel Maslenki, age 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 8, 2018 in the Residence at Morgan Heights Complex Care Facility in Surrey, BC.
She was born on January 5, 1928 in Prince Rupert, BC to William and Alice Smith. Growing up in Prince Rupert, she had a fondness for the beauty of the rain forest and the ocean which surrounded the community and served as her playground. On September 4, 1952, she married the love of her life and the couple moved to Penticton, BC where they started their family.
She is predeceased by her loving husband of over 56 years, Paul Peter Maslenki (March 22, 1920 - June 15, 2009) and is survived by her three children: Michael Maslenki (Jeanne Krabbendam) Vancouver, BC; Paula Weninger (Blaine) Dawson Creek, BC and Maureen Lee (Michael) Surrey, BC. As well, she leaves behind her grandchildren: Elizabeth, Paul, Brian (Leanne) Weninger, and Greg and Stephen Lee.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 10:30 at St. Saviour's Anglican Church in Penticton, BC followed by an interment of her ashes at Lakeview Cemetery.
