LACEY, DOUG

Passed away in the early evening hours on April 2, 2017 at Kelowna General Hospital with his loving and caring wife Hamiron at this side. Doug was born in Lethbridge,

Alberta and lived in Picture Butte for 20+ years. Doug attended Mount Royal College in Calgary and the University of Oregon in Eugene. He lived and worked in Australia,

Vietnam, Pakistan, Indonesia, Phillippines and Singapore prior to moving to Kelowna. Moving to Kelowna reunited him with his relatives and old friends. Working in his

garden gave him moments of relaxation and a sense of pride knowing that he helped to make something so beautiful, like a blooming rose. Always a curious mind, he could be found on the computer, learning and taking notes. Doug is survived by his loving wife Hamiron, son Justin (Vancouver), brother Gordon (Bellevue, Wa.) and Uncle Don Foster (Richmond) and nephew Mitch Lacey (Bellevue, Wa.) Doug will be sadly missed by all who have known and loved him. He was always full of humor, even while in the hospital and had last words that would put a smile on your

face. We would like to say thank you to his brother Gordon, for being there and more and to Guy Johnson and his family for their heartfelt kindness and generosity. He was always looking forward to the afternoon happy hour time, chatting

and visiting with his childhood friend, Guy. Thank you also to the friends and neighbours that gave him tremendous support when in need and thank you all for the flowers, card, and prayers that we received. The interment will be held at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery in Kelowna on

June 30th at 11 a.m. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life to be held at Gallagher’s Canyon Golf Club at

12:30 pm for family and friends.
