chef par excellence passed on to the Great Kitchen in the sky on June 10, 2008. Some of the venues where he plied his trade included Rosies Pub, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 26, Chances and he worked with his father in the catering business. He cooked Christmas dinner at the Kelowna Gospel Mission for years and made a mean turkey stuffing. He will also be remembered as a former Okanagan Sun football player who played with Kelownas Best. Doug is fondly remembered by his aunt Josie Robinson of Regina, his aunt Irene Luknowsky of Port Coquitlam, many cousins, very special friends Linda and Robert Bowers of Kelowna and his canine friend Bear Dog. Memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at 2:00 pm at the Oyama Legion, 15712 Oyama Road. Doug will be laid to rest at a later date with his mother Margaret. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Poppy Fund of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 189. A gift in living memory of Doug will be made to Hospice Care by Springfield Funeral Home.
