Edith Elizabeth Hemingway (Edie), nee McKay,  Phoenix AB, June 10, 1926 passed away peacefully after a long illness at Hospice House, Kelowna BC, surrounded by family.

Wife of the late Peter Cunliffe Hemingway. Survived by her children Paul and Pat Hemingway, John and Brenda Hemingway, grandchildren Steven Hemingway and Sharon Plaizier, Elaine Hemingway, and great grandchildren Kieran, Sawyer and Harper.

Leaves behind sisters Dorothy Murton, Dodie Nauss, and Shirley Lennox.

Edie was manageress at the Rosanne Shop and Robinson's Department store in St. Catharines and Niagara Falls. She was also well known for her upholstery and sewing projects completed for family, friends and clients.

Edie is fondly remembered for her love of life, optimism, caring for others, her lively, bubbly personality and most particularly for her beautiful singing and musical talent. Edie and her sisters were well known in the southern Alberta area for their singing on the radio during the early forties. She also participated in several church choirs, most recently, the St. Mary's Anglican Church Choir in Kelowna.

She touched the lives of many with her voice, her love of life and optimism and is sadly missed.

Memorial service to be held at St. Mary's Anglican Church, 2710 East Kelowna Road, Kelowna BC, Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.
