EDWARD JAMES SILVER

Ed Silver passed away on Saturday March 8th at Brookhaven Care Home at the age of 91 where he had received excellent care for over two years. He leaves his family with happy memories of his life and devotion to family and friends and to our Lord Jesus Christ. He is survived by his devoted wife Rosemary. daughter Marilyn Silver of Ladysmith B.C. son Jim (Cathy)of Madison Wis., grandchildren Ed, Peter, Greg & Theresa, sisters Elinore Brown of Delta B.C. Edna Frith and sister-in-law Isobel Silver of Prince Alberta Sask..Also the Craig step family, Lynn,Gordon (Marla) of Calgary, Glen (Laura) Ken (Sandra) Dale (Lynn) of Canmore AB, 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren who have so many happy memories of him.On his return from service in the air force he worked in the Automotive parts business, starting his own company, Silver Automotive in 1961, then assisting employees to start their own stores in southern Alberta, many of them still using the Silver name. Ed was a member of the Kiwanis Club in Calgary where he served as President and Lieutenant Governor and was awarded the honor of being the Kiwanian of the Year. He became an active member of Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship in Calgary and continued in Kelowna in various positions including President. He worked diligently with the Pentecostal Men's Ministries (Okanagan) for several years. A memorial service will be held at Evangel Church, 3261 Gordon Drive Kelowna V1W 3N4on Saturday March 15 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Reuben Schmunk officiating preceded by Interment at the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery First Memorial in charge of arrangements.
