EMMA “Leona” Walsh ( nee Sawatski ) July 2, 1925
November 11, 09. Born on July 2, 1925 in Brokenhead, Manitoba and passed away peacefully at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital on November 11, 2009. She was predeceased by her husband Ron Walsh in 1992. Leona will be sadly missed by her four children: Donald (Marg) Anders of Vernon, Allen (Colleen) Anders of Vernon, Shari (Dennis) Pillipow of Saskatoon and Myra (Kirk) Duff of Castlegar, nine grandchildren: Lori Anders, Craig Anders, Lora Pillipow, Curt Pillipow, Kara Cooper, Ryan Anders, Mike Duff, Kyle Duff, Kristine Duff and 9 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Leona had lived in Kelowna since 1956 and later in
Vernon from 2004. A celebration of Leona's life will be held at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, BC on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. Viewing will be held one hour prior to service, from 1:00 -2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the SPCA or a charity of choice.
