HOUGH, FRED
November 7, 1927 – October 25, 2013
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving father Frederick Cyril Hough, after a valiant
battle with cancer. Fred leaves behind his loyal
companion and his angel, Donna Ferch. His two daughters Lesley and Jackie along with his 5 grandchildren; Joshua,
Derick, Carson, Carlie, Landrey and his brand new
great-grandson Jaxson. Fred was blessed in his life with two loving partners, his wife Eileen who passed away in 1996 and Donna who was by his side for 15 years sharing travel and adventure. Fred was born in Churchdown, Gloucester in 1927 and served in the military stationed in Italy just after WW II. Fred met and married Eileen in 1950 and immigrated to Canada with their daughter Lesley in 1957. They built their family home in Richmond and had their 2nd daughter, Jackie there. Making Peachland their summer destination, Fred and his family spent many wonderful years making friends in that community . Fred was a boating enthusiast and loved teaching people to fish and water ski on his beloved Okanagan Lake. He traveled extensively, loved music and RV-ing and was devoted to his friends and family
attending countless dance and piano recitals, soccer
and baseball games, track and field events and fencing
tournaments. He loved to snow ski, golf, fish and play his music. He shared his passions with his family and friends and his passing leaves a huge hole in our hearts.
For all those who knew him, remember his wicked sense
of humour and the twinkle of mischief in his eyes. He loved and was loved and will be missed more than words can say. Donations in memory of Fred can be made to the Central Okanagan Hospice House
.
