Devitt, Garnet Garney Wrathus
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Garney Devitt on April 20, 2017.
Garney was born March 12, 1931 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to William and Gertrude Devitt. Garney was predeceased by, his parents, Jackie’s parents Bob and Mary Ashton; his four brothers and seven sisters.
Garney is survived by his loving wife and best friend Jackie; their daughter Colleen (Rick) Groat; sons Ken, and Jeff (Bonnie) Devitt; his grandchildren, Jackie, Brad and Dan his great grandchildren Kendall and Xander. He also leaves his sisters in law Barbara Jones, Kelowna, BC, Vicki Gibson, Regina, SK. Ivy Devitt, Saskatoon, SK. As well as many nieces and nephews.
Garney will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
A humble man with a large heart he always had a smile and a kind word for all. Always a generous man he would go out of his way to make others feel welcome and come along side to be with them in friendship and support.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday April 28th at 1:30 pm First Memorial Funeral Home,
1211 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, BC. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Heart and Stroke or charity of choice.
