passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at the age of 76. Claude was born June 10, 1932 to parents Raoul Gauthier and Maria Larochelle in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan, was raised on the farm and went to Piché School. He later bought his own farm and married Florence Bouvier in 1956. Together they farmed until 1970, then moved to Kelowna, BC where he worked at Crown Zellerbach for 20 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, music and sang in the Knights of Columbus Choir. Claude leaves to mourn his loving wife Florence; his three children: Réal (Janice), their sons Brad (Isabelle) and Tyrell; Henriette Jendruck, her sons Evan and Keeton; Joanne (Ed), their children Eric, Aaron, Kyla and Kyra all of Kelowna; three brothers: Raymond (Cecile), Gilbert (Solange), Fr. André; four sisters: Denise (Roland) Lagassé, Simone Carobourg, Lilliane (Paul) Parent and Gilberte Keck. Sadly predeceased by his sister Sr. Cecile (Grey Nun). Also mourning his loss is Florence’s family: Claire Bouvier, Sara Bouvier, Cordelia (Leonard) Scheltgen, Odile (Leger) Girard, Cleophas (Diane) Bouvier, Rose (George) Faucher, Xavier (Jeanne) Bouvier, Patricia Lemire, Henri (Lorraine) Bouvier, Antoine (Joan) Bouvier, Felix (Reneé) Bouvier, Jean Marie (Janine) Bouvier, Eugene (Laurie) Bouvier; many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Prayers will be recited on Sunday, July 20th at 6:30 pm at Chapel of Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 21st at 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 839 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, BC. Interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1633 Pandosy Street, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 1P6.
