October 31, 1925 - September 9, 2018
The family of George Wallace MacPherson (Warrant Officer CD Retired) of Kelowna B.C. with a heavy heart announce the passing of George, Wally, Mac, MacPherson on Sunday September 9. After 93 years, George passed peacefully with family at his side, "His mansion was ready and the Lord called him home"'. His wife, Isabel of 67 years had predeceased almost 3 years to the day and he was eager to rejoin her.

George was born in Stellarton Nova Scotia on October 31, 1925, one of four sons, to George and Sarah MacPherson. He grew up the son of a coal miner and had to run away to join the Canadian Air Force since mining was considered an essential service to the war effort. He met future bride Isabel, who was also in the Air Force and they were wed in Wetaskiwin, Alberta.

Married life in the military is all about travel and they spent time in Calgary, Greenwood, 2 fighter wing in France, Comox, Cold Lake, Comox again and finally North Bay. During this time they had 5 sons and are survived by Glenn (Verna) in Kelowna, Murray (deceased), Robert (Donna) in Parksville, Daniel (Bonnie) in Newbrook AB, and Timothy in Kelowna. George is also survived by his brother Donald MacPherson of West Kelowna and numerous nieces and nephews.

George was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather to seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held for George on Saturday, September 22 at 1000 hrs at First Lutheran Church on Lakeshore Road.
