born October 15th, 1928 in the town of Sindia, on the Island of Sardegna, Italy. Giovanina passed away at the Victoria Jubilee Hospital in Victoria on July 11th, 2008 Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving members of her family, husband of 57 years Demetrio, three children Son James Carta, Daughters Gloria Toplak and Iona Welder. Eight grandchildren Christopher, Kevin, Jordan, Jeramy, Jessica, Chase, Kyle and Bryce, four great grandchildren Cody, Demetrio, Isibella and Nevaeh, two son-in-laws Steve Toplak and Paul Welder, three sisters Michela Ardus, Lilica Cossu and Francesca Soro and her only nephew in Kelowna Antonio Soro. Predeceased by her older Brother Angelo Soro. “ Though Nina spoke with a strong Italian accent her message was always clear. Nina essentially said that grandmothers are responsible to nurture the generations to come through unconditional love providing the light the next generation needs to make their way through an uncertain future - A Loving Neighbour. Prayers will be recited from Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2547 Hebert Road, Westbank on Thursday, July 17th, 2008 at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Friday, July 18th, 2008 at 11:00 A.M.. Interment will take place in the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery.
