CHAPMAN, GLADYS MAY (HAP)
July 8, 1921 – June 14, 2013
It is with a great deal
of sadness that we
announce the peaceful passing of our Mum.
Mum is survived by 3
children Ken (Adrienne)
of Armstrong, Ian (Gwen) of Kelowna and Sheilagh (Norm) Jackson of Winfield; seven grandchildren,
Sarah (Victor) Fellegi of Cochrane, Alberta, Jeremy (Sabrina) Chapman of
Kelowna, Kimberly (Jason) Page of Durham N.
Carolina, Josh of Fort Nelson B.C., Bryan (Tracy) Jackson and Scott (Niki) Jackson of Winfield, Emily (Norton) Hunt
of Fort St. John; seven great grandchildren Liam, Coen,
and Lukas Fellegi, Elodie and Callum Page and Eli
Chapman and Linden Hiscox. Mum was predeceased
by her husband Eric of 64 years in 2007 and her
step-brother Herbert Farris in 1991.
Mum was born and raised in Okanagan Mission and
lived her entire life in Kelowna. Active in her Parish of
St. Andrews Anglican Church, she belonged to the ACW, the Altar Guild and in the Choir for many years. She loved
to paint and was a founding member of the Kelowna
Pallette Club and Watercolour Guild. Mum was blessed
with a cheerful disposition, a ready smile and a kind word
to anyone. We were fortunate to have her as a Mum.
A celebration of Gladys’ life will be held on Thursday,
June 27 2013 at 2:00 pm at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, 4619 Lakeshore Road, Reverend Canon Catherine Hall
officiating. Mum will be interred beside Eric in
St. Andrew’s cemetery. Reception will follow in the
church Hall. The family wishes to thank the wonderful
staff at Missionwood, her caregivers from We Care,
especially Olga Markwart and the Parish family of
St. Andrew’s. In lieu of flowers a donation may be
made to the Heart and Stroke foundation or Central
Okanagan Hospice Association – Hospice House.
