THIEL, HELEN
Born August 1, 1921 in Germany and went home to be with her Lord on August 23, 2014. Helen immigrated to Canada in 1951, where she met and married Gottfried Harlos. They lived and farmed in Flat Valley, Saskatchewan until they retired to Kelowna in 1972. Gottfried passed away four years later in 1976. Helen met Alfred Thiel through her involvement in the German Choir and they were married in 1983. Helen and Alfred had an active eleven years together, until his passing in 1994. Helen continued to remain busy, volunteering in her church and community. She will be missed and fondly remembered for her kind and generous spirit. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 26th at 10:30 am at the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2091 Gordon Drive, Kelowna, BC. Reception to follow in the church hall and Helen will be laid to rest in the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery.
