ENNS, HENRY
September 25, 1916 ~ May 31, 2016
Surrounded by his family, Henry Enns passed into the
presence of the Lord on May 31, 2016 at the age of 99.
Predeceased by his siblings John, Jake, Margaret, Helen, Sarah and Anne, his loving wife Annie, his eldest daughter Margaret (Walter) and daughter-in-law Margarete (Arthur), Henry is survived by daughter Esther (Norman) and sons David (Doreen), Arthur (Dianne) and Richard (Carol),
together with dozens of grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
He will be missed not only by his immediate family, but
also by two surviving brothers, Peter (Marie) and George (Helen), and many nieces and nephews who loved and
respected their Uncle Henry.
After a successful career as a builder in Kelowna
(H. H. Enns Contracting) and active service as a church deacon and church moderator, Henry retired to focus on
volunteer work, golf, travel and connecting with family.
He was known widely for his gracious leadership and wise counsel.
After age 95, Henry moved to Menno Home in Abbotsford, and expressed much appreciation for the care he received. He passed away after a bout of pneumonia—missing his
upcoming 100th birthday, but not missing out on the far greater celebration in heaven!
A viewing will be held on Monday, June 6, 2016 from 7:00
to 8:00 p'm. at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. The Memorial Service for Henry Enns will be held at Willow Park Church, 439 Highway 33 West, Kelowna at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MCC.
