Ivy Rathjen, born in England on June 14,
1918, passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord in her home at Spring Valley Care Centre in Kelowna on August 4, 2017 at the age of 99.
She was predeceased by her husband Donald, her oldest son John, and her five siblings. Now left to lovingly remember her are: daughter Evelyn, and sons Jim (Sandi), Phil (Joan), Tom (Linda), as well as twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
For 45 years, Ivy and her husband pastored churches and assisted in various Christian ministries. She thoughtfully blessed her family and neighbours with delicious baking and preserves throughout the years. Even in her final years she delighted in knitting and crocheting layette-outfits sent to third-world infants.
The memorial service for Ivy will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 18, 2017, at Evangel Church, 3261 Gordon Drive, Kelowna, BC.
